Delaware Valley Grantmakers is proud to serve corporate grantmakers in our region. Did you know that corporate giving is good for your company’s bottom line? Recent studies by the Conference Board, the Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College and other researchers have shown a positive correlation between a company’s strong civic responsibility and financial performance indicators such as return on sales and assets, and that employee recruitment and retention is higher at companies that demonstrate a commitment to their community. The bottom line is, corporate philanthropy has real business value.

Members of the DVG network recognize the value and power of corporate philanthropy. DVG membership provides you with opportunities for professional development and peer networking, plus access to vital research and information that save you time and improve your effectiveness. Membership in DVG can help you to:

Enhance your corporation’s reputation and build brand recognition through your corporate citizenship
Be more strategic in your giving, leveraging limited resources for maximum impact
Increase the awareness of your corporation’s community involvement among elected and appointed officials, the media and other influential leaders in our region

Over the past year, the DVG Corporate Donors Forum programs have covered such critical topics as “Best Practices in Employee Volunteer Programs,” “Strategies for Publicizing Corporate Contributions” and “Tips for Managing Your Corporate Giving in Challenging Times.” Professional development programs such as “Evaluating Nonprofits’ Financial Statements” and “Measuring the Business Value of Corporate Philanthropy” help our members build their skills as grantmakers.

DVG’s staff performs quick, reliable research for our corporate members via email through our popular Corporate Benchmarking Inquiries, enabling you to reach out and gain information from peers easily and anonymously on issues such as matching gifts program parameters, etc. We were the first to notify many of our corporate members about the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, as well, so they could take advantage of the tax credits available. These programs and services represent only some of the valuable meetings, publications and research that DVG provides its members throughout the year.

Your time and resources are limited, and membership in DVG is a worthwhile investment. Belonging to DVG will help you to be a more efficient, informed and effective corporate grantmaker. Contact us at info@dvg.org or 215/790-9700 to discuss how DVG membership can maximize the power of your corporate philanthropy. See Knowledge Resources for Grantmakers for other resources relating to corporate philanthropy.
