Resources for Policy Makers

			How DVG Can Serve as a Resource
			Common Wealth: Giving in PA

Across the United States, more than 4,000 charitable foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals have joined regional networks of grantmakers like DVG, who work to advance philanthropy and the nonprofit sector and strengthen the communities in which your constituents live.

As the voice and resource for philanthropy in eastern Pennsylvania, DVG itself represents a membership of over 500 individuals from more than 150 grantmaking entities in the region. In addition to our mission to promote effective giving through opportunities for peer networking, knowledge sharing, and professional development among grantmakers, DVG also works to:

	•	Inform and educate legislators and policy makers on the role and value of philanthropy;
	•	Monitor legislation and key public policy developments that impact the work of grantmakers and their grantees;
	•	Advocate for sound public policies that encourage philanthropy and the support the efforts of the sector as a whole;
	•	Serve as a resource for reliable and impartial information about philanthropy; and
	•	Act as a convener to bring grantmakers, legislators and policy makers together the build stronger relationships and discuss issues of mutual concern.
